Christmas in the Blitz. Christmas in Ukraine.
In December 1940, a mother in London pulled the blackout curtain tight, listened for the siren, and decided her children would have Christmas anyway. In December 2026, a mother in Kyiv picks up the bag that always waits by the door and decides the same thing.
This calendar does not say the two wars are the same. It asks you to notice what is: the fear of losing someone, the stubborn work of protecting a child, the neighbour with the kettle, the ambulance that turns towards the fire. And it remembers the other half of the story, the people who helped. In 1940 that was Britain. Today it is Ukraine, and it is you.
Opening the calendar plays Shchedryk, the Ukrainian carol the world knows as Carol of the Bells. Every door opens with the sounds of its moment, then its two songs. Door 1 is open now, free, for everyone.
